Castellroig is the Sabaté i Coca family's ‘vins de terrer’ estate in the Penedès (Corpinnat). This Brut Rosat grows on the calcareous-gravel terraces of the River Bitlles, whose soils bring precocity to the ripening of the indigenous Garnatxa, Trepat and Xarel·lo. After vinification it is made by the traditional method with a minimum of 18 months' ageing; it is a limited production of 8,500 bottles.
Tasting Notes
A clean, bright, strawberry-pink sparkling wine. Characteristic aroma of raspberry and liquorice. Fresh and clean in the mouth, with a hint of spice and reminders of red fruits and thyme. Very easy to drink.
Pairing Recommendation
Suitable with appetizers, rice dishes and noodles; also good with certain desserts. Serve at 7–8 °C.
