Cellers Joan d'Anguera (Darmós, DO Montsant) are champions of Garnacha and of biodynamic farming. ‘Altaroses’ is 100% Garnatxa (Grenache) from the north-facing ‘Les Altaroses’ estate (silty-clay, calcareous soils), vines 10–35 years old, fermented in concrete with indigenous yeasts and aged in oak.
Tasting Notes
A savoury nose of fresh wild strawberry, garrigue spice, menthol and underbrush; medium-weight on the palate with mouth-watering acidity, red-berry fruit, liquorice and fine tannins — bright, lifted and mineral.
