Profile & Story

Piaggia was founded in 1990 by Mauro Vannucci in Poggio a Caiano/Carmignano, just outside Florence, farming about 15 hectares. Pietranera is an IGT Toscana blend of 80% Sangiovese and 20% Cabernet Franc, fermented with natural yeasts and aged 12–18 months in French oak.

Tasting Notes

A bouquet of dusty rose, sage and cherry; soft, round and juicy on the palate, with lively acidity carrying wild berry fruit through a fresh finish of raspberry and licorice.
