Profile & Story
Caymus-Suisun is the Wagner family's Suisun Valley label, an offshoot of Napa Valley's Caymus Vineyards. 'The Walking Fool' Red Blend, produced by Jenny Wagner, is named after her great-great-grandfather Johannes Glos, who came to Napa Valley in the 1880s and often traveled by foot. The blend is led by Zinfandel and Petite Sirah from the hillside vineyards of Suisun Valley; approximately 13.8% ABV.
Tasting Notes
A silky scarlet red with luminous highlights; a lean earthiness of rustic wood mixes with sweet spice, a whiff of cigar box, dusty pavement, and old leather, infused with garden-ripe strawberries and cherries. The palate is smooth and lively with juicy raspberry, subtle cranberry tartness, and notes of espresso and smoked meat, finishing with vibrant cranberry, luxurious cocoa, and a kick of spice.
