Profile & Story

McKinlay is a small family winery on the southeast-facing slopes of Parrett Mountain in Oregon's Chehalem Mountains, founded in 1987 and devoted to Pinot Noir. It is run by Matt Kinne, great-grandson of namesake Reverend George Angus McKinlay, who dry-farmed fruit and nut trees in the Willamette Valley. The Pinot Noir ferments with native yeasts, ages in a modest share of new oak and is bottled without fining or filtration.

Tasting Notes

Translucent ruby with aromas of red cherry, currant and a hint of forest floor. The palate is medium-bodied and silky, with bright acidity, fine tannins and a gently spiced, earthy finish.
