Ruffino, founded in Tuscany in 1877, crafts its sparkling wines at two estates in the Veneto, Ca' del Duca and La Duchessa. For this Prosecco DOC, freshly pressed juice is held cold to preserve its quality, then re-fermented in pressurized tanks by the Charmat method over about a month, which keeps the bubbles fine and the fruit aromas vivid.
Tasting Notes
Straw yellow with a small, fine and persistent perlage. Delicate aromas recall wild strawberries and blackcurrants, followed by a hint of caramel; the palate is refreshing and fruity, with a juicy, upbeat finish.
