Profile & Story
Created in 2019 under the impetus of Stephanie de Bouard-Rivoal, Tempo d'Angelus is Chateau Angelus's more accessible, early-drinking Bordeaux appellation wine, vinified at the estate's Chai Carillon from vines the de Bouard de Laforest family acquired around Saint-Magne-de-Castillon, Castillon-la-Bataille and Sainte-Colombe. It is made in the image of its more prestigious siblings, Chateau Angelus and Carillon d'Angelus, sharing their Cabernet Franc/Merlot character in a more streamlined, ready-to-drink style. James Suckling rated the 2019 vintage 93/100.
Tasting Notes
Fresh red-berry fruit -- tiny red berries and cherries -- lifted by subtle oak notes; the palate shows a vertical, precise structure with fine acidity and pure fruit character, finishing with a persistent, toasted, woody edge.
