Bodegas Moraza, run by sixth-generation winemakers Janire Moraza and Patricio Brongo in Rioja Alta's "Golden Mile" around San Vicente de la Sonsierra, farms organic and biodynamic plots at 450-650m elevation. Soplar blends Garnacha and Tempranillo, fermented spontaneously in concrete and bottled unfined and unfiltered.
Tasting Notes
Vivid garnet color with lively acidity; a spicy bouquet of red and black raspberry, Rioja spice, soil tones and a touch of cigar smoke -- a fresher, less oak-driven style of Rioja.
