Profile & Story
Di Giovanna is a fifth-generation organic estate in Sicily's Contessa Entellina, farming native varieties on volcanic-tuff soils. Camurria (Sicilian for "trouble") is their orange wine made from 100% Grillo off 30-year-old vines in the Paradiso vineyard, given a long skin maceration and spontaneous fermentation in neutral barrels before aging on lees, then bottled unfined and unfiltered.
Tasting Notes
Deep gold-amber color with aromas of dried orange peel, wild herbs and marzipan; textured and savory on the palate with the grippy tannin typical of extended skin contact on Grillo.
Pairing Recommendation
Grilled octopus, Sicilian caponata, or hard sheep's-milk cheeses.
