Hopler, a family winery in Austria's Burgenland on the Leithaberg hills, makes Pannonica as an introduction to Austrian reds -- a blend of Blaufrankisch (40%), Zweigelt (35%) and Pinot Noir (25%) named for the ancient Roman province of Pannonia that once covered the region.
Tasting Notes
Dark ruby color with aromas of dark berry fruit and black pepper; juicy blackberry flavors, a touch of spice and soft, easy-drinking tannins.
