Profile & Story

Penya is produced by a village cooperative in Cases-de-Pene, in the Cotes Catalanes area of French Catalonia (Roussillon), just north of the Spanish border -- the name itself a nod to that Catalan heritage. The rose blends saignee-method Grenache Noir with directly-pressed Syrah, fermented in cement tanks with no malolactic conversion and matured briefly on the lees before an early bottling.
