Profile & Story
Founded in 2002 by brothers-in-law Miguel Hornillos and Javier Ballesteros, Bodegas Hornillos Ballesteros makes Mibal from biodynamically farmed vines 50-75 years old at roughly 2,500 feet in the mountains around Roa. Grapes are hand-harvested and destemmed, fermented with native yeast in steel, and aged in used French and American oak.
Tasting Notes
100% Tempranillo, full-bodied with layers of spiced dark purple fruit, leather, and crushed rocks, and bright acidity that makes it an ideal food wine.
