Profile & Story
Kopke, founded in 1638 in Porto, is the oldest Port shipper still in operation. Its 20 Years Old Tawny is a 'Statement of Age' blend of Touriga Nacional-based Douro red varieties grown on schist soils, aged oxidatively in oak casks of varying ages that are then blended to reach the stated average age.
Tasting Notes
A delicate orange-green color. The nose is a complex marriage of dried fruit, spice and fine wood; the palate is rich and concentrated, with a long, velvety finish.
Pairing Recommendation
Excellent with a starter of foie gras with aubergine and walnuts, and with desserts such as toffee brownies, chocolate and pistachio pave, or walnut and chevre crostini. Best served at 12-14 C.
