Profile & Story

Historic estate dating to the 7th century (Benedictine origin); privatized early 19th c.; purchased 1882 by ancestor of current owner Maximin von Schubert (6th gen). Farmed organically. Natural fermentation, stainless steel + neutral oak casks. 2024 was a low-yield vintage (~20% of normal crop) from a catastrophic late-April frost. Semi Dry (11.0% ABV, RS 16.5 g/L, TA 8.1 g/L).

Tasting Notes

Balanced and refreshing with fine, crisp acidity and aromas of fresh apples, mirabelle and pear. Von Schubert: "Maximin is a wonderful and straightforward wine that is clarion without ever losing its sense of place."
