Profile & Story

The Vandelle family has farmed vines in L'Etoile, Jura since 1883, when Auguste Vandelle first settled the estate; Philippe took over in 2001 and in 2020 his son Valentin became the sixth generation. The estate's 16 hectares sit on Mont Morin, whose white marl soils of the upper Lias are especially prized for Savagnin. Chainai Ouillee is 100% Savagnin from the "la Chainai" parcel, aged one year in oak barrels topped up (ouille, i.e. non-oxidative) to preserve the character of the grape and terroir.

Serve between 10 and 12 degrees C with starters, fish, oysters and shellfish.
