Domaine Rijckaert was founded in 1998 by Jean Rijckaert, previously technical director for the Macon negociant Verget, who acquired vines around Vire in the Maconnais along with Savagnin, Chardonnay and Poulsard parcels in Arbois. Florent Rouve took over the estate in 2013 and continues Jean's minimalist blueprint of native yeasts, minimal lees-stirring and 18 or more months of aging before bottling. "Sur Les Marnes" is 100% Chardonnay from the Cotes du Jura, named for the marl (marnes) soils of the vineyard.
