Domaine Vendange was established in 2015 in the Combe de Savoie, on the foothills of the Massif des Bauges; Benjamin Vendange, who studied viticulture and oenology in Beaune, returned to the family property with partner and oenologist Diane Gounel to begin estate-bottling. The vines grow on young glacial-moraine soils of limestone scree and silty clay at 400 meters. "Madame de M..." is Altesse from 20-year-old vines, fermented long and cool with native yeasts in stainless steel, with about a third of the wine going through malolactic fermentation, then rested 10 months in a mix of older barrels and stainless steel.
