Domaine Dirler-Cadé is a fifth-generation Alsace estate in Bergholtz, formed when Jean Dirler married Ludivine Hell-Cadé and merged their families' vineyards; the domaine has farmed biodynamically (Biodyvin certified) since 1998 across 18 hectares including four Grand Crus. This Sylvaner Vieilles Vignes comes from old vines on sandstone erosion soils in the Heisse Wanne within the Kessler Grand Cru (planted 1957) and limestone-based vines in the Bux plot (planted 1970).
Tasting Notes
Dry, with just 1 g/l residual sugar. Notes of lit candles, pear, and citrus fruits on the nose, with a linearity, brilliance, and fluidity that make the wine elegant and persistent.
Pairing Recommendation
Pairs well with sole meunière or braised endives.
