Domaine la Bonnelière has been farmed by the Bonneau family for five generations since its founding in 1972 by André Bonneau; today Anthony and Cédric Bonneau run the 42-hectare estate in Varrains, planted mainly to Cabernet Franc and Chenin Blanc, with about 30 hectares in the Saumur-Champigny appellation. The estate is HVE Level 3 certified and farms with minimal intervention in both vineyard and cellar. The Tradition cuvée is built primarily from Cabernet Franc, embodying the everyday, food-friendly style of the appellation.
Tasting Notes
A classic Saumur-Champigny: bright ruby color with lifted red fruit — raspberry and red currant — alongside the variety's signature violet and green, leafy herbal notes. Medium-bodied with fresh acidity and fine, approachable tannins, built for easy, everyday drinking.
