Domaine Jean-Marc Brocard was founded in 1972 in Chablis, named for the Church of Sainte Claire next to the winery; Jean-Marc Brocard began converting the estate to biodynamic farming in 1998, well ahead of the trend. The Sainte Claire bottling is 100% Chardonnay from roughly 30-year-old vines grown on Chablis's signature Kimmeridgian limestone soils.
Tasting Notes
A textbook Chablis: pale gold, with citrus, green apple, and a distinct wet-stone/flint minerality from the Kimmeridgian soil. Bright, taut acidity carries a lean, dry palate through to a mineral-driven finish, unoaked and precise.
