Profile & Story

Pol Roger is a family-owned Champagne house in Épernay renowned for reproducing a consistent house style year after year. The Brut Réserve, accounting for roughly 80% of the house's production, is an equal-parts blend of Pinot Noir (Montagne de Reims, for structure and power), Pinot Meunier (Vallée de la Marne and Épernay, for freshness and fruit), and Chardonnay (Épernay and Côte des Blancs, for finesse and aromatic lift), drawn from 30 different crus. The blend includes 25% reserve wines and is aged a minimum of four years in cellars 33 metres below street level, with low-temperature (18°C) fermentation, full malolactic fermentation, and hand riddling before disgorgement.

Tasting Notes

Beautiful golden straw-coloured hue with a fine, persistent mousse. The nose opens with pear and mango, moving into honeysuckle and white jasmine, and lingers on notes of vanilla and brioche. On the palate, cooked fruit — quince jelly and apricot jam — mingles with beeswax and acacia honey, finishing with fruity, spicy notes.

Pairing Recommendation

Versatile enough to serve as an aperitif or to accompany a full meal, balancing power with finesse.
