Profile & Story
Founded in 1680 by Jean Sparr in Sigolsheim, Maison Pierre Sparr has been family-run for eleven generations. Pierre Sparr, who took over the estate in the early 1900s, was a pioneer of estate bottling in Alsace and rebuilt the domaine after its vineyards were destroyed in World War II; his descendants continue the estate today under the motto "invest, progress and maintain."
Tasting Notes
Salmon pink in the glass, with fresh aromas of strawberry and raspberry leading into a round, fruity palate touched with peach. Delicate bubbles and lively acidity carry through to a smooth, clean, dry finish. Made from 100% Pinot Noir grown on hillside vineyards at 200-400 meters elevation and aged a minimum of 18 months on the lees.
