Profile & Story

Coppo's Moscato d'Asti Moncalvina comes from the Canelli DOCG subzone, one of only 17 of the appellation's 52 municipalities entitled to the 'Canelli' designation, where Moscato has been grown since the 13th century; the grapes come from vineyards above 165 meters. This bottling is 100% Moscato bianco di Canelli, from south/southeast-facing vineyards on calcareous marl at 200-280 feet, trained by Guyot. Healthy, ripe grapes are hand-picked in small baskets; soft pressing is followed by slow fermentation in stainless steel at controlled temperature until the alcohol reaches about 5%, with the CO2 produced during fermentation captured to give the wine its natural, light fizziness.

Tasting Notes

Straw-colored yellow with faint greenish reflections. Floral notes with hints of white flowers and sage lead to a fresh, aromatic palate.

Pairing Recommendation

Cakes, cookies, fruit-based desserts, and Robiola di Roccaverano, an old, typical Piedmontese goat cheese.
