Domaine Paul Doucet et Fils is a family estate six kilometers north of Sancerre, on the heights of Sury-en-Vaux. Paul Doucet dedicated the family fully to viticulture in 1975, starting with 5 hectares that grew to 9 in the 1980s; his son Patrick joined in 1995 and, with his mother, continued to build the domaine, which today farms 11.3 hectares across Sury-en-Vaux and Saint-Gemme - 10 hectares of Sauvignon Blanc for the Sancerre Blanc cuvées and 1.3 hectares of Pinot Noir for Sancerre Rouge and Rosé. The vines span two complementary terroirs: limestone-rich caillottes and deeper, more clay-based terres blanches. The estate has held the HVE (Haute Valeur Environnementale) environmental certification since 2021.

Pairing Recommendation

Sancerre blanc is classically enjoyed as an apéritif or alongside seafood, fish, and goat cheese, notably the region's own Crottin de Chavignol.
