Castello di Querceto has been run by the Francois family, who settled in Tuscany from France in the 18th century, since the estate helped found the Chianti Classico Consortium in 1924. Sited in the northeast corner of Chianti Classico near Greve, the wine is made primarily from Sangiovese (92%) with Canaiolo Nero and Colorino, fermented about ten days and aged at least ten months.
