Crown of Avignon
2022, Paso Robles, USA
Profile & Story
Possibly one of the most difficult yet complex wines Andy has made to date. All three varieties were harvested and fermented separately keeping approximately 25% and 100% whole clusters in Grenache and Mourvèdre respectively. This helped to bring a wine that has a harmonious balance of fruit, spice, and depth.
Tasting Notes
The wine is one that is both powerful and refined, with an enticing nose of dark fruits, spices, and a touch of dried herbs. On the palate, it’s smooth and silky, with a long, elegant finish that leaves a lasting impression. The interplay of fruit, tannins, and acidity makes this GSM a perfect match for a variety of dishes, from grilled meats to roasted vegetables, and a wine that will evolve beautifully with time.
