Profile & Story

Marqués de Cáceres was founded in 1970 by Henri Forner in Cenicero, in Spain's Rioja Alta, and named for the Marquess of Cáceres; while best known for its Rioja reds, the house also built a sparkling-wine program using the traditional method. Its Cava Brut is made from the classic Penedès trio of Xarel-lo, Macabeo and Parellada, resting in the cellar for at least eleven months so the fruit, lees richness and bubble integration come together.

Tasting Notes

Pale straw in color with a steady stream of fine bubbles, the wine opens with bakery aromas layered with apple and white-flower notes, then shows a round, harmonious, dry palate with good length carried by its delicate effervescence.
