Profile & Story

Soalheiro is a pioneer of Alvarinho in Portugal: João António Cerdeira planted the first Alvarinho vines in Melgaço in 1974 and launched the Soalheiro brand in 1982. The Alvarinho Clássico was the family's first wine and remains their defining expression, sourced from the Monção e Melgaço sub-region of Vinho Verde, in the far north of Portugal along the Minho river.
