Domaine Bitouzet-Prieur is a classicist Volnay estate of about 12 hectares (roughly 4 ha Chardonnay, 8 ha Pinot Noir), formed by the union of the Bitouzet family of Volnay (settled there in 1804 and among the first in the region to bottle their own wines) and the Prieur family of Meursault. Vincent Bitouzet has made structured, age-worthy reds and whites from the heart of the Côte de Beaune for over thirty years, with his son François now working alongside him.
Tasting Notes
This cuvée is one of dynamism, balance and drive — a touch fruitier and more subtle than the Taillepieds, with slightly less stout tannins.
