Charles Heidsieck Champagne Rosé Réserve NV
NV, Champagne, France
Profile & Story
Charles Heidsieck's Rosé Réserve is made from first-press juices only and matured slowly for three to four years, well beyond the regional norm. The cuvée is 40% Pinot Noir, 35% Chardonnay and 25% Meunier (a quarter of it reserve wines), with 5–6% red wine giving tannin and red-fruit fragrance.
Tasting Notes
A sophisticated powdery-pink robe with glints of wild rose and delicate, vivacious bubbles from over 48 months' ageing. The subtle, complex nose reveals home-made strawberry jam, vineyard peach and warm, velvety gingerbread. The palate is deep and powerful, with a burst of strawberry, raspberry and blackberry nestled in velvety whipped cream.
