Delamotte Champagne Brut NV
NV, Champagne, France
Profile & Story
Champagne Delamotte, based in the Côte des Blancs (from Cramant and Le Mesnil-sur-Oger through Avize and Oger), draws on chalky soils and sloping vineyards. The Brut blends 60% Chardonnay for structure, 35% Pinot Noir (from Tours-sur-Marne, Bouzy and Ambonnay) for depth and fruit, and 5% Pinot Meunier for aromatic density, with a light dosage after thirty-six months on the lees.
Tasting Notes
An extremely pure nose of citrus, white flowers, lemon rind and moss. The delicate effervescence gives a creamy freshness; generous and clean on the palate, with freshness and roundness merging into a clean, fruity finish of elegant length.
Pairing Recommendation
Serve chilled but not cold (around 8 °C) in a tulip-shaped glass. Equally suited as an aperitif or with a fruit dessert.
