Sanford Winery, in the Sta. Rita Hills of California, made this Chardonnay from 100% estate fruit, hand-harvested and gently destemmed. The grapes were whole-bunch pressed and barrel-fermented in French oak, then matured about eight and a half months in 225-litre French oak barrels (20% new). 2022 vintage, 13% alcohol.
Tasting Notes
Enticing notes of grilled peach, lemon and toasted hazelnuts; the palate shows bright fruit and honeycomb, framed by crisp acidity and a rich texture that carries through to a long, clean finish.
