The Brunier family has guided Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe for six generations, beginning with Henri Brunier in 1891; its vineyards lie on the famous La Crau plateau of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Télégramme is the estate's second-label Châteauneuf-du-Pape red, made from younger vines (under 30 years) plus older parcels off the La Crau and Piedlong plateaus — 80% Grenache Noir with Syrah, Mourvèdre and Cinsault. It is fermented for 25–30 days and aged 15–16 months in large French oak foudres, then bottled unfined and unfiltered.
Tasting Notes
A Châteauneuf-du-Pape greatly dominated by Grenache, which gives it a particular suppleness and roundness; best enjoyed in its youth.
