Blason d'Issan is the second wine of Chateau d'Issan, a 1855 Margaux Grand Cru Classe, introduced in 1995 to allow greater selection for the grand vin. It draws on the estate's younger vines, dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon and complemented by Merlot and a touch of Petit Verdot.
