Maison Louis Latour planted Pinot Noir in the Pierres Dorees area of southern Beaujolais -- named for its golden limestone -- bringing Burgundian winemaking outside the Cote d'Or. The marl-limestone soils here, similar to those of the Cote d'Or, give the Pinot Noir unusual richness for the region.

Tasting Notes

Dark color with garnet reflections; notes of black cherry, mocha, nutmeg and licorice; a generous, tannic palate with freshness.

Pairing Recommendation

Pairs with crusted rack of lamb, quail with grapes, red tuna tartare, sea bass or goat cheese.
