Grand Cru Gloeckelberg
Pinot Gris
Cave de Ribeauvillé
About the Wine
Located in Rodern, the Grand Cru Gloeckelberg is south-to-southeast exposed. It lies on a granite substrate with sandy and acidic soils. Grapes are entirely hand harvested. A wine for long aging, at least for 10 years. To be served between 10 and 12°C.
Tasting Notes
This Pinot Gris shows smoky aromas with dried fruits on the nose. The palate is soft and well structured: the beginning is round, and the finish shows some notes of acidity. With time, candied fruit notes will move progressively towards exotic fruits.
Pairing Recommendation
Winemaker recommendation: with its opulent side, this Pinot Gris is a perfect companion for skillet-cooked Foie Gras. You can discover it with dishes composed of mushrooms, duck, or roasted veal.
