About the Wine
The Grand Cru Osterberg (translated Eastern View Hill) faces East at 250-350 meter heights and is limited to 24.60 ha. Very low yield (45hl/ha), grapes are harvested only by hand and delicately dropped off in a low-pressure pneumatic press tank, then separated of juices to keep only the best (Cuvée). Subsequently, static racking for 24h is used before its fermentation under controlled temperatures. After 9 to 11 months of rest on lees, this wine is bottled to be aged for at least 3 years in our special cellar before being put on the market. It has tremendous aging potential (10 years or more).
Tasting Notes
Superb aromas of citrus fruit and Flintstone, well-balanced on the palate with an amazing length enhanced with fine and fuller acidity. Mineral taste brings it an outstanding balance and powerful delicateness.
Pairing Recommendation
Winemaker recommendation: enjoy this Riesling with seafood, sushis or choucroute (fish or meat sauerkraut), marinated salmon, roast or sauce-cooked poultry, and goat cheese.
