Profile & Story

Baron de Brane is the second wine of second-growth Chateau Brane-Cantenac, named for Baron Jacques-Maxime de Brane who owned the Margaux estate in the 19th century. It is drawn from plots of deep gravel soil planted mostly to Merlot, giving a more approachable, earlier-drinking expression of the property's style.

Tasting Notes

Black cherry, plum, licorice and a touch of menthol on a supple, plump-fruited palate of strawberry and raspberry, framed by round tannins and a clean, lively finish.
