Domaine Lamy-Pillot, founded in 1973 and now run by Rene Lamy's daughters and their husbands, farms deep, clay-rich soil in the Morgeot sector of Chassagne-Montrachet -- a red Burgundy village more often associated with white. The Champs de Morgeot rouge is made with a significant portion of whole clusters and aged a year in barrel, a quarter of it new.
