Jas des Vignes - literally the 'sheepfold of the vines' - is a rose cuvee from Famille Ravoire, selected from vineyard sites on the hills near Manosque in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence. The blend is 60% Grenache, 20% Syrah, 10% Cinsault and 10% Muscat Petits Grains; grapes are picked early in the morning and direct-pressed, with low-temperature fermentation over 10-15 days to preserve the wine's full aromatic potential. The higher-altitude, Alps-moderated vineyards give lighter, more aromatic wines than those from lower-lying Provence sites further south.
