Terre del Barolo is a growers' cooperative founded in 1958 in Castiglione Falletto, at the heart of the Barolo zone, by twenty-two founding growers led by Arnaldo Rivera. Today several hundred member families farm roughly 650 hectares across the Barolo communes and the wider Langhe. This Barolo DOCG is produced from 100% Nebbiolo, hand-harvested in October with a capped yield of 8 tons per hectare; after fermentation and maceration on the skins for 16-20 days and full malolactic conversion, the wine ages roughly 38 months in total, including at least 18 months in large French oak casks, before release.
