Envinate is the four-person project (Roberto Santana, Alfonso Torrente, Laura Ramos and Jose Martinez) known for site-driven wines from Spain's Atlantic and volcanic terroirs. La Santa de Ursula is an assemblage of century-old parcels in La Corujera (village of Santa Ursula), in Tacoronte-Acentejo on the northern coast of Tenerife, at 350-650m on volcanic soils. The blend is about 50% Listan Negro, 48% Negramoll and 2% Listan Blanco.
Tasting Notes
Each parcel is fermented separately with native yeasts - most grapes whole-cluster, about 20% carbonic in open tanks - then blended and aged 8 months on lees in 228L French oak. Light and elegant, with wild strawberry, garrigue and supple tannins, prizing freshness and focus.
