Profile & Story

Marco Tinessa is a natural-wine grower in Campania whose project (Ognostro) grew from a love of Taurasi and Aglianico, with early help from his mentor Frank Cornelissen. Rubice is his Falanghina - one of southern Italy's oldest white grapes - from two organically farmed, high-altitude, volcanic, iron-rich vineyards: Bonea (600m, ~50-year-old vines) and Montesarchio (300m, ~90-year-old vines).

Tasting Notes

Spontaneously fermented with about two days of skin maceration and aged seven months in steel, unfined and unfiltered. Fresh and energetic, with a citrus- and fruit-driven nose, riper tones on the palate and gentle bitter notes of toasted almond.
