The Nurseryman honors Frank Emmolo, winemaker Jenny Wagner's grandfather, who ran the Emmolo Nursery and supplied grapevines to many of the wineries that helped establish Napa Valley as a world-renowned wine region. Made from grapes grown on some of Napa Valley's best Cabernet soils, the 2020 Nurseryman is a rich, layered, and textured wine, aged with a barrel bouquet of French oak.
Tasting Notes
A dark black plum, the wine shows scents of wild sage, mocha, caramel, custard, wild berries, and worn leather, with a barrel bouquet of French oak adding dimension. The entry is plush, round, supple, and mouth-filling; the texture is fine, rich, and soft, carrying through to a lasting finish of baking cocoa powder, espresso bean, and ripe plum.
