Founded in 1999 by vintners who set out to seek Napa Valley vineyards of distinctive ‘provenance,’ or origin, Provenance Vineyards is based in Rutherford and has built its reputation on Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Sauvignon Blanc. This Cabernet Sauvignon blends fruit from premier Napa Valley AVAs including Rutherford and Calistoga, with single-vineyard contributions from Diamond Mountain, Howell Mountain, and St. Helena; malolactic fermentation takes place in small barrels, and the wine ages eighteen months in winemaker-selected French oak.
