Profile & Story

First produced in 1966, Geyserville is Ridge Vineyards' longest continuously produced Zinfandel-based wine. The organically grown fruit comes from three adjoining vineyards on the western edge of Alexander Valley, Sonoma County, planted on a single gravelly-loam soil type deposited by an ancient washout of the Russian River — a block roughly a mile and a quarter long and a half-mile wide. The 2024 vintage is a field blend of 71% Zinfandel, 19% Carignane, 8% Petite Sirah, and 2% Alicante Bouschet at 14.6% alcohol; a rainy winter, mild spring, and warm summer advanced ripening, with harvest beginning August 30 and finishing September 14. The grapes were hand-harvested, destemmed, fermented on native yeasts through full malolactic fermentation, and aged sixteen months in American oak.
