The Mayr family has farmed this Kremstal property, known as Vorspannhof — once a horse-changing station on the steep ascent toward the Waldviertel — since 1898. Proprietor Silke Mayr, who took over from her father Anton, farms an assortment of single-vineyard Grüner Veltliner and Riesling from loess and gravel soils around Krems and Dross.
