Primitivo is grown almost exclusively in Puglia, in Italy's sun-baked southern heel, where the grape (genetically identical to Zinfandel) ripens to high sugar levels and produces bold, generous red wines.

Tasting Notes

Deep purple in color. Aromas of blackberry jam, black cherry, and a hint of licorice lead to a full-bodied, richly fruited palate with soft tannins and a warm, lingering finish.
