Castello Banfi is a large estate in Montalcino, Tuscany, founded by the Italian-American Mariani family in 1978, who acquired a historic castle property and transformed it into one of Tuscany's most significant wine estates. Banfi is widely credited with pioneering the commercial success of Brunello di Montalcino in the US market and today farms extensive vineyards across Montalcino and Piedmont, producing wines from Brunello and Chianti Classico DOCG down to the popular sparkling red Rosa Regale from Piedmont's Brachetto d'Acqui appellation.
