Montes is a Chilean winery based at its Apalta estate in the Colchagua Valley. Montes Alpha Cabernet Sauvignon is a 90% Cabernet Sauvignon / 10% Merlot blend sourced from the Apalta and Marchigue vineyards, hand-harvested, macerated 5 days, fermented 7-10 days, and aged 12 months in French oak (50% new). 14.5% ABV.
Tasting Notes
Deep ruby-red with aromas of cherry, strawberry, and sarsaparilla layered with cigar box, black pepper, and creme de cassis, plus toast from French oak; balanced palate with good body, rounded tannins, and a vibrant finish.

Red meats, Mongolian beef, spaghetti with Bolognese sauce, and lamb chops with Cabernet-mushroom sauce.
